This small, but strategically important rural arts development agency delivers an outstanding integrated programme of exhibitions and education work around the theme of interpreting the environment in the broadest sense. Recent projects have included collaborations with artists James Smith, Richard Woods and Jacques Nimki.
I’ve been working with Fermynwoods for over two years. Initially, I was commissioned to conduct a feasibility study for a partnership project with the regional Forestry Commission team to create a rural artists’ research residency in an old Hunting Lodge. This work grew to include capacity-building Fermynwoods to deliver and manage the project, and to increase its impact in the region. Along the way, we created a Business Plan, achieved charitable status, appointed two new members of staff, and fundraised for £500,000 capital, revenue and project costs. I've just accepted a position as a Trustee. |
